Paul Wentworth Engel, M.A., joined the Fund on July 1, 2009 as assistant building manager and Harkness House curator. Mr. Engel is a noted historian and preservationist of New York City architecture and has always had a particular interest in the Harkness House. He has provided design consulting services to the Fund for many years and has assisted in all of the recent projects around the House that have led to numerous favorable mentions within the historical, architectural and preservation world. He leads the tours of the Harkness House sponsored by the Institute of Classical Architecture. Mr. Engel will reside in the manager’s apartment in the Harkness House and, in addition to his own design consulting business, will provide part-time support to the building manager in maintaining this historic landmark building. He holds a bachelor's degree in Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design and a Master of Architecture II from Harvard University.
