Jacob A. Lippa, M.P.H. is senior research associate for the Tracking Health System Performance program. He reports to David Radley, Ph.D., who is senior analyst and project director for the Fund’s scorecard team located at IHI in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Mr. Lippa has primary responsibility for conducting analytic work to update the ongoing series of health system scorecard reports. He manages data collection and analysis and serves as co-author both of reports and other related analyses for publication. This work includes assisting with the scorecard report design, production, and dissemination activities, including website tools and information. In addition, Mr. Lippa supports the day-to-day management of the IHI unit and coordinates research efforts and communication between the unit, Fund staff, and external collaborators. He manages data updates and analyses for the Commission’s scorecard reports, serves as coauthor and key analyst to produce the scorecard reports, assists and advises on the compilation of data/issue briefs on insurance market and provider organization data and participates in any analytic work required to produce trend and policy reports. Prior to joining The Commonwealth Fund, Mr. Lippa was a senior research analyst at HealthCare Research, Inc. in Denver, where for more than six years he designed, executed and analyzed customized research for health care payer, provider and government agency clients. During this time, he was also a research assistant at Princeton University’s Center for Health and Wellbeing. Mr. Lippa graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2002 and received a Masters of Public Health with a concentration in health care policy and management from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health in December 2011.
