Shreya Patel, M.P.H., is program associate for the Health System Quality and Efficiency program. In this role, Ms. Patel supports the Fund's program on Health System Quality and Efficiency, and reports to Anne-Marie Audet, M.D. Ms. Patel joins the Fund directly from the Boston Office of the Inspector General, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), where she had been a program analyst. While at the Office of the Inspector General, Ms. Patel conducted program evaluations to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of HHS programs such as Medicaid and Medicare. She reviewed regulations, policies and procedures to assess compliance, and prepared written reports and memorandums with findings and recommendations to key stakeholders. Ms. Patel held a number of internships during college and graduate school. She was a research assistant at the Harvard School of Public Health for two summers working with the Health Professional's Follow Up Study, collecting data on lifestyle and occurrence of chronic diseases. She interned at the Access Project, an organization that provides free debt mitigation consulting to individuals with outstanding and burdensome medical debt. She also interned at Sterling Planning Alliance, a health care consulting company that provides facility planning services. Ms. Patel holds a B.S. degree and an M.P.H., with a concentration in Health Policy and Management, from Boston University.
