Gary Reed is executive assistant to the Commonwealth Fund's president. Previously, he was executive assistant to the senior vice president of medical and academic affairs at the New York Academy of Medicine and secretary for its institutional review board. From 1990 to 1998, Mr. Reed was coordinator of services in the department of medical education for St. Clare's Hospital & Health Center in New York. He is a published novelist.
