Barry Scholl, senior vice president for communications and publishing, joined the Fund in August 2006. Reporting to the President and working closely with other members of the executive management team and the Fund’s program officers, Mr. Scholl is responsible for developing the strategy to successfully promote the Fund’s programs, products, and policy ideas to a broad audience of influential people. He is the Fund’s marketing expert and is actively involved in developing new communications products, in shaping messages emanating from the work of the Commission on a High Performance Health System and other Fund programs, and in identifying effective methods for reaching the Fund’s audiences. Before joining the Fund, Mr. Scholl spent 11 years at the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), considered one of the nation's leading organizations dedicated to improving the quality of health care. At NCQA he served as Vice President for Communications and Marketing, with overall responsibility for all aspects of communications, marketing, publications, and customer support. He was responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of comprehensive communications and marketing strategies for varied audiences, including health plans, physicians, employers, consumers and consumer organizations. Mr. Scholl holds a B.A. in English from SUNY Binghamton and an M.S.J. from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
