Biography at time of Harkness Fellowship: Bruce Guthrie, a 2006–07 Commonwealth Fund Harkness Fellow in Health Care Policy, was previously a Health Foundation/Scottish Executive Chief Scientist Office postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Dundee, and a Medical Research Council Health Services research training fellow at the University of Edinburgh. His research interests are in the definition and measurement of quality of care, and the effectiveness and equity of organization of health care for chronic disease including the place of personal continuity. He has training in quantitative and qualitative methods in epidemiology and social research, and combines his research work with clinical general/family practice.
