Following on the 1998 cross-national comparisons of international health systems' costs, quality, outcomes, and equity, the 1999 analysis will seek to illuminate differences and similarities among the 29 member countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in providing and financing health care for the elderly. Comparisons of health care indicators will offer valuable insights to U.S. health policymakers, researchers, and industry leaders as they address policy options for Medicare's future.
