Work in the year ahead will strengthen the program's focus on quality of care within managed care. Program direction activities will include: assessing the availability and quality of care provided to minority populations by managed care plans, especially those organized under Medicaid; providing information on choosing a health plan and effectively navigating the managed care system; and developing and disseminating information on health status disparities among racial and ethnic groups, barriers to care, and effective policies and practices for improving health outcomes.
