The Fund is launching a new policy-oriented initiative, Assuring Better Child Health and Development (ABCD), to complement the Healthy Steps program by identifying policy changes to Medicaid and other programs that would help assure a healthy start for all low-income children. Renamed from the Pediatric Developmental Services Program that was instigated last year, the ABCD Program will develop four state initiatives to improve health and development for low-income children.
