The 2002 International Health Policy Survey, the fifth in an annual series of surveys commissioned by the Fund, will assess health care system performance from the perspective of adults living with a serious illness or disability. Conducted in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States, the study will capture the experiences and concerns of a population that is the most dependent on the health care system and most vulnerable to government cost-containment strategies. Its findings, to be released at the Fund's 2002 International Symposium, will highlight differences in national health policy and should generate substantial interest among health ministers, policymakers, researchers, and the media. Project staff would submit a paper discussing survey results to the journal Health Affairs.
