Two new Commonwealth Fund surveys provide a wealth of new information about U.S. adults' experiences with the health care system. A survey by the Fund's Task Force on the Future of Health Insurance focused on the quality and stability of Americans' health insurance coverage. A companion survey sponsored by the Quality of Care for Underserved Populations program probed respondents for their perceptions of the quality of care they have received; with its large samples of minority adults, the survey can reveal the specific concerns of different racial and ethnic groups. This grant authorizes the Fund's president to commission up to 10 papers drawing upon the new surveys to analyze the experiences of individuals placed at risk because of barriers to adequate health care.
