The Commonwealth Fund's 2012 International Health Policy Survey will assess health care system performance from the perspective of primary care physicians. To be conducted in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States, the survey will explore primary care physician practices' capacity to serve as medical homes and coordinate care; their participation in integrated care systems and deployment of care teams for chronically ill patients; their use of electronic health records with information exchange capabilities; payment arrangements; and satisfaction with primary care practice. The analysis of survey results will compare physician experiences and practice arrangements to those reported in 2009 and 2006. Findings will be presented at the Fund's 2012 International Symposium and submitted to Health Affairs. Cofunding is expected from foundation and government partners in participating countries.
