CHIP Implementation Choices Webinar

September 10, 2009

The Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009 has the potential to transform children's health care in the United States. A recent Commonwealth Fund publication by Lisa Simpson of the Child Policy Research Center and colleagues offered implementation recommendations about outreach and enrollment and quality of care to help ensure the legislation lives up to its potential.

A September 15 webinar outlined the key features of the law and provided implementation guidance so that the new policy can successfully strengthen outreach and enrollment of eligible children, as well as quality of care. The webinar was cosponsored by the National Academy of State Health Policy (NASHP), the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs, and the National Initiative for Children's Healthcare Quality (NASHP).

The event featured Lisa Simpson, professor and director of the Child Policy Research Center at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and the University of Cincinnati, Department of Pediatrics, coauthor Jocelyn Guyer, coexecutive director of the Georgetown Center for Children and Families, and Catherine Hess, senior program director at NASHP.  Download the presentations at right or watch a recording of the event.
