Laura Tollen, M.P.H., is a senior policy consultant at the Kaiser Permanente Institute for Health Policy. Her work focuses on the potential of organized health care delivery systems to contain costs and improve the quality and safety of care. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, she was project director at the Institute for Health Policy Solutions, an independent policy think tank. She is the author of numerous journal articles and served as coeditor, with Alain Enthoven, of Toward a 21st Century Health System: The Contributions and Promise of Prepaid Group Practice. Ms. Tollen holds a master of public health degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
