Matthew Wynia

Director, Institute for Ethics at the American Medical Association

Matthew Wynia, M.D., M.P.H., is the director of the Institute for Ethics at the American Medical Association and the executive director of the Ethical Force Program. He oversees projects related to ethical challenges in health care, physician professionalism, the role of professionals in society, and measuring ethical quality in health care organizations. Dr. Wynia also practices internal medicine and infectious diseases at the University of Chicago Hospitals. He received his medical degree from Oregon Health and Science University School of Medicine and his master of public health degree from Harvard School of Public Health.
