Moira Inkelas is assistant professor of health services at the UCLA School of Public Health and assistant director of the Center for Healthier Children, Families, and Communities. Her research and policy work focuses on children's access to health care, tailoring health care financing to the needs of children with chronic illness, examining how systems of care influence quality and performance, and implementing quality of care measurements and quality improvement. Project: Working in collaboration with researchers at the Centre for Community Health at The Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne, Inkelas's project aims to develop a framework for measuring quality of care in the Australian primary care and preventive service systems for children. The project will develop indicators and effectiveness measures for health promotion and developmental monitoring systems for young children, as well as examine how quality improvement strategies can be incorporated into population-based nursing services.
