Dr. Williams divides her time between public health research and clinical/academic work. As a medical officer at CONRAD/CDC, she works on the development and implementation of domestic and international clinical trial that investigate products which may provide women with dual protection against HIV/STD and unintended pregnancy. At Morehouse School of Medicine, she is involved with the education and training of medical students, public health students, and resident physicians. She has a special interest in the reduction of STI/HIV and unintended pregnancies among high-risk young women of color. She is active in the International Medical Center at Grady Memorial Hospital, which is a model program established to provide comprehensive, bilingual health care services to the increasing immigrant populations within the local community. Dr. Williams serves on two national committees aimed at addressing disparities among minority populations, and serves on the board of directors for a local community health center. Dr. Williams, a native of Oakland, Calif., received her undergraduate degree in psychobiology at University of California, Los Angeles and an M.P.H. from the University of California, Berkeley. She attained her medical degree at the University of California, Davis, and completed residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, San Francisco-Fresno.
