Options for Medicare's Long-Run Future

This project will conduct a series of analyses to examine options to address the long-run financial solvency of the Medicare program. Potential options include reduced payments to providers, increased payments by the elderly, and methods of raising new revenues. The analyses will be based on projections of health care spending, estimated incomes of the elderly, and models of the economy. A series of reports, including a major review of policy options, will be disseminated to Medicare policymakers.
