The Impact of Managed Care and Medicaid Payment Changes on Urban Safety Net Hospitals, Phase Two

In Phase One, this project contributed to the nation's information base on sustaining the health care safety net in low income minority communities. It assessed trends in the roles that public hospitals play in caring for low income and uninsured populations, focusing on the impact of managed care and public policy changes. Phase Two of the project will continue to compile information, helping to inform public policy on such issues as Medicaid disproportionate share funding.
