National Evaluation of the Local Initatives of the Healthy Steps for Young Children Program, 1997-98

The sustainability and replication of the Healthy Steps approach depends on documentation that the program has positive effects and is economically viable. This second year of the five-year evaluation will assess the program's success in reorienting pediatric practice to emphasize early child development, increasing parents' knowledge of nurturing and child development, and promoting parental practices that improve the health and safety of children. An economic analysis will also be conducted.
