Evaluation of Medicaid Managed Care in New York City, 1998 –99

New York City will soon begin implementing the transition of Medicaid beneficiaries into mandatory managed care, making the program the largest of its kind in the nation. Analysts at the United Hospital Fund, New York University, and Columbia University have tracked and evaluated the development of Medicaid managed care in New York City for the past three years, and are now the leading source of information on this topic. The importance of this work will continue to grow as policymakers and private-sector leaders strive to understand the impact of program implementation. The project will continue to be co-funded by the New York Community Trust, the Engelberg Foundation, the Pfizer Foundation, and the United Hospital Fund. http://www.uhfnyc.org/
