Support for Program Direction and Policy Analysis, 1998-99

×

For the fourth year, Marilyn Moon, senior fellow at the Urban Institute and a public trustee of the Medicare and Social Security Trust Funds, would direct the Program on Medicare's Future and oversee original analysis and research. The advisory committee, chaired by John W. Rowe, M.D., chief executive officer of the Mount Sinai-NYU Medical Center and Health System, would continue to serve both the Program on Medicare's Future and the Picker/Commonwealth Program on Long-Term Care for Frail Elders. Moon and program direction staff would continue to provide authoritative analyses of long- and short-term options for revising the Medicare program, including emerging proposals to modify provisions of the Balanced Budget Act (BBA) of 1997 and steps to implement recently adopted changes.
