The Future of the Medicare Program

×

Bruce Vladeck, former head of the Health Care Financing Administration, will prepare a series of informative articles on Medicare and options for resolving its fiscal crisis as the baby boom generation begins to retire in the next century. Vladeck’s unusual combination of analytic and communication skills, and his hands-on experience in administering Medicare, will result in articles that will speak to both policy experts and the broader informed public. The project could also result in a potential book on Medicare in the 21st century. Vladeck is the author of the highly successful 1981 book, Unloving Care: The Nursing Home Tragedy.
