Providing Medicare Beneficiaries with Report Cards to Compare HMO Quality in New York City, Phase Two

×

During Phase One of this project, health plan 'report cards' were developed to help elderly Medicare beneficiaries in New York City make informed decisions when choosing a managed care plan. In Phase Two, the project will explore how training staff at senior services organizations can assist beneficiaries in using the materials. If feasible, this educational model could play a vital role in helping Medicare beneficiaries select health coverage that is most appropriate for them. Additional project activities involving dissemination through the media will help promote availability of the materials and senior citizen services.
