Replicating the Elder Life Program: Preventing Delirium in Hospitalized Older Patients

×

Previous Fund-supported projects developed a significant, highly effective program for preventing delirium—a common and serious source of morbidity and mortality among hospitalized older patients. As maintaining health and productivity becomes ever more important with the aging of the population, continued work will take place to attempt replication of the program at up to 60 institutions. Cofunding for this three-year Picker Program initiative will be provided by the Retirement Research Foundation and the Fan Fox and Leslie R. Samuels Foundation.
