Developing Minority Leadership in Managed Care Policy, Phase Two

×

The impact of managed care is a concern for all Americans, but particularly for minority populations, who continue to have poorer health status and experience greater problems with accessibility and quality of care. Over the past year, the Joint Center has worked to educate leading minority policymakers on health issues, focusing on the impact of managed care on the indigent care missions of public hospitals and other safety net providers. In Phase Two, a series of forums for senior policymakers and minority health experts will address additional managed care issues, such as quality of care for Medicaid beneficiaries and trends in insurance coverage. The project will promote understanding of minority health concerns and inform efforts to improve minority health.
