U.S.-U.K. Conference on Health Care Quality Improvement, 2001

Concerns over quality of care are driving health policy in both the United Kingdom and the United States. In May 1999, the Fund and the Nuffield Trust sponsored a symposium that brought together national leaders, health care practitioners, and researchers from both countries for an exchange of information and perspectives on quality of care. A second binational meeting in June 2000 built on the foundation and relationships established at the 1999 meeting and produced an agenda for formal U.S.-U.K collaboration on health care quality. The third meeting, set for June 2001 in Pennyhill Park, England, will assess progress made, explore priorities for further collaboration, and recommend future directions for joint activities and research in this area. http://www.nuffieldtrust.org.uk
