Rising Premium Costs: Implications for Insurance Coverage of Working Families

×

Reports of increasing health insurance premiums raise concerns that employers may respond by dropping employee coverage, reducing benefits, or shifting costs. Using survey data on employer health benefit packages and insurance coverage over time, this project will assess how employers are responding to premium inflation. It will also examine the adequacy and affordability of coverage for working families in both the employer group and individual insurance markets. Results will inform initiatives to ensure the availability of health benefits through employer plans and individually purchased insurance. http://www.hret.org
