Medicare Facts and Faces: Highlighting the Needs and Concerns of Medicare Beneficiaries

The Medicare Rights Center-the organization that brings a consumer voice to the national debate on Medicare reform-has initiated a new report series exploring the difficulties Medicare beneficiaries face in obtaining access to affordable, comprehensive health care. By weaving together the actual experiences of beneficiaries, data drawn from the latest studies, and suggestions for reform, the Medicare Facts and Faces reports are able to dramatize how Medicare policy decisions affect real people while also offering ways to help improve the system. This project will produce six new reports for the series on such topics as beneficiary access to Medicare's home health benefit, instability in the Medicare HMO market, and affordability of outpatient care. As with the previous reports, the new publications will be widely disseminated and are similarly likely to garner significant attention from policymakers and the media.
