Evaluation of Medicaid Managed Care in New York City, 2001–02

×

For the past six years, analysts at the United Hospital Fund, New York University, and Columbia University have tracked and evaluated the development of New York City's Medicaid managed care program. In this final year, the project team will synthesize the wide range of research it has conducted and assess the program's past and likely future impact on access to care, accountability for quality of care, and health system reorganization. Lessons gleaned thus far will inform the future evolution of the nation's largest Medicaid program as well as other New York programs relying on mandatory managed care models. A series of roundtables with policymakers and representatives of plans, providers, and consumer groups will help inform the assessment and shape recommendations issued in the final report. The project is cofunded by the Engelberg Foundation, New York Community Trust, Pfizer Foundation, and United Hospital Fund. http://www.uhfnyc.org/
