Supporting National Efforts to Improve Child Health and Developmental Services, Phase Two

The Fund's work with George Washington University has provided states with valuable guidance on ways to deliver a full range of preventive care and developmental services to young children from poor families. Under previous grants, project staff developed managed care contract specifications for Medicaid agencies to ensure the provision of child development services, prepared a series of reports on the federal government's role in child health policy, and held briefings for national child health experts and federal officials. For the next phase of work, the George Washington team will analyze new and proposed federal policy changes, hold additional policy briefings, and assess the coverage provided by state child health insurance programs. A set of reports, briefs, and fact sheets summarizing project findings will inform policymakers.
