Learning from State Health Policy Research and Evaluation to Inform Health Policy

×

Centers for state health policy research and evaluation have sprung up over the last decade in response to state policymakers' need for better information. The studies these centers produce are used mainly for program evaluation; only infrequently are they released publicly or disseminated to other states. To facilitate development of state and federal health insurance reforms, this project will cull the best information from state assessments of insurance and access initiatives and extract cross-cutting insights and lessons. By sharing the fruits of state-based research with the broader policy community, the project will provide policymakers around the country with a valuable head start in their efforts to expand health insurance coverage and ensure access to affordable care.
