Improving Low-Income Medicare Beneficiaries' Enrollment in Medicare Savings Programs and Technical Assistance for State Enrollment Solutions

Despite high out-of-pocket health care expenses, many low-income Medicare beneficiaries do not participate in federal programs intended to provide them with financial support. The Fund will partner with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in a national initiative to help up to five states pursue systemic changes to expand these programs, simplify application processes, and raise enrollment levels. Project staff will provide the grantees with substantial technical assistance to help them achieve their goals.
