A Performance Scorecard for the U.S. Health Care System

×

The Commission on a High Performance Health System will set out achievable goals over the next five, 10, and 15 years. To draw public attention to the need and potential for health system change, this project will develop an annual “scorecard” to report on progress—or the lack thereof—in attaining those goals. Guided by discussions of the Commission, the scorecard will highlight key indicators of insurance coverage, health care access, quality, efficiency, and equity, with particular attention given to those Americans who are vulnerable due to income, race/ethnicity, health, or age. The scorecard will also assess national progress in building the capacity and infrastructure necessary to support a high-functioning health care system.
