Spreading and Sustaining Developmental Screening in Pennsylvania

×

With support from the William Penn Foundation, the Pennsylvania Health Law Project (PHLP), a nationally recognized advocate for child health policy reform, is helping to promote the use of developmental screening by Philadelphia-area pediatric practices. PHLP's efforts closely resemble those of states currently participating in the Fund's ABCD Screening Academy. The Fund will now engage the PHLP team to help advance wider adoption of structured developmental screening in Pennsylvania and beyond. Project staff will: work with six diverse child health care practices throughout the state to expand their use of screening tools; design a comprehensive curricular training package for national dissemination; and develop a set of recommendations to overcome administrative, budgetary, and policy-related barriers to statewide adoption of screening.
