Advancing Excellence in America’s Nursing Homes, Year 3

×

Advancing Excellence in America's Nursing Homes, a three-year-old national effort supported in large part by The Commonwealth Fund, continues to demonstrate results in improving the quality of life and care for nursing home residents. Nearly half of all facilities in the country now participate in the campaign, and there have been more than two years of steady progress toward its clinical quality goals. Fund grants support a two-person staff that coordinates activities, assists state networks and workgroups, and oversees the production of educational resources. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services also lends support and, in the next year, plans to support efforts to raise the campaign’s national visibility. The next phase of activities will include: recruiting new participants; rolling out new and revised goals; building up the capacity of state networks; producing new online informational resources; executing a communications plan; and testing an awards program.
