Support for a Research Unit to Update the Health System and Analyze Local Variations in Performance, 2012–13

×
The health system scorecards developed by The Commonwealth Fund’s research unit at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) reveal persistent deficits in overall health system performance and wide variability across states and local health care markets. These findings have focused attention and policy efforts on areas of underperformance and opportunities for improvement, and they have helped position the Fund as a go-to source for health system performance tracking. This grant will support the research unit’s third year, during which time the IHI team will produce the first state-level scorecard on care for vulnerable populations, as well as the third edition of the state scorecard. The unit will also collaborate with Fund staff to produce briefs on national, state, and local health policy topics.
