To encourage improvement in state health system performance, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) is awarding grants to 25 states to design innovative multipayer care delivery models. The National Governors Association Center for Best Practices (NGA Center) will convene officials from each of the states to provide a forum to exchange information, connect state officials with their federal counterparts, and disseminate results to a broader state audience. This project will: 1) provide support for two members of each state team to attend the NGA Center meeting; 2) summarize the states’ design plans; and 3) prepare a policy brief for federal officials and other stakeholders. CMMI has indicated that, because these activities complement the technical assistance it has planned for the federal initiative, the agency will participate and encourage the states to do so as well.
