International Symposium on Health Care Policy, Fall 2015

×

The 18th annual International Symposium on Health Care Policy will compare strategies in the industrialized world for slowing the growth of health care expenditures. Topics of particular interest include innovative approaches to provider payment reform, avoidance of “low value” care, controlling costs for prescription drugs, the high cost of medical imaging and medical devices, and reducing administrative waste in health care systems. In addition, the symposium will explore examples of “frugal innovations” from low-income countries that the United States might adopt. In bringing together leading policymakers and researchers from the U.S. and 10 other countries, the symposium will highlight for U.S. policymakers the strategies that these nations have employed in pursuit of a better-performing health care sector.
