2015 International Health Policy Survey of Primary Care Physicians – The Netherlands

Since 2006, the Netherlands has participated in and co-funded the Fund’s annual International Health Policy Surveys, providing a valuable opportunity to assess the performance of the Dutch healthcare system relative to the U.S. and other OECD countries, as well as evaluate the impact of Dutch national policies and reforms over time. The 2015 International Health Policy Survey – the 18th in the annual series – will compare primary care physicians’ views of their country’s health care system and its capacity to ensure access to high-quality, safe, efficient, and patient-centered care. The findings will be released at the Fund’s 2015 International Symposium and summarized in an article for Health Affairs. In addition to enabling the Fund to maintain the Netherlands as a comparator country in its analyses of the survey data and in Mirror, Mirror, Dutch inclusion in the survey is an important factor in gaining participation of the Dutch Health Minister and senior government officials at the International Symposium. This grant will support the Fund’s international survey vendor, SSRS, to provide data collection oversight and integration of the Dutch sample with the other 10-country data.
