Dissemination of Timely, Trusted Policy Information and Evidence to Inform the Unfolding Health Reform Agenda

Commonwealth Fund support to Health Affairs, which began in 2002, initially focused on establishing an online presence for the journal and on publishing the annual internationally themed issue. For the past several years, Health Affairs and the Fund have worked together to publish content in the journal and on the Health Affairs blog. This grant will support the continuation of relevant work under the previous grant, serving to enhance the journal's reputation as a consistently strong and nonpartisan source for timely and relevant information on health policy. This grant will support Health Affairs' efforts to inform the unfolding national dialogue surrounding health reform, through timely distribution of research, analysis, and other content. Health Affairs will continue to publish pieces evaluating the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, the development of new health care reforms, and innovative ideas that could translate into policy change. Health Affairs garners nearly 10 million page views annually, 3 million of which are for the Health Affairs blog. The journal reaches between 250,000 and 500,000 health care stakeholders, including government officials, opinion leaders, community leaders, the private sector, academia, and the public.
