Abby Hoffman

Abby Hoffman is a Ph.D. candidate in Health Policy and Management at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill Gillings School of Global Public Health. Her current research focuses on using qualitative and quantitative methods to understand how the payment policy landscape impacts provider and organizational behavior. Her dissertation work analyzes the impact of payment reform on the skilled nursing facility market. Prior to and during her Ph.D. program, Ms. Hoffman worked as a research associate at L&M Policy Research in Washington, D.C. She has experience conducting research around issues related to childhood obesity and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Before joining L&M, she worked as a research assistant for the Chapel Hill Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention). Ms. Hoffman holds a B.A., with honors, in public policy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
