Becky Briesacher

Becky Briesacher is a health services researcher with interest in prescription drug policies that affect older adults. She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Division of Geriatric Medicine. She began her career at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (formerly known as PCPS) in the Institute of Pharmaceutical Economics. In 1997, she entered the University of Maryland's doctoral program where she received a dissertation grant from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service to examine problems in filling prescriptions as captured in the Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey. Today, she applies her epidemiology, economics and health policy training to analyses of medication issues among chronically ill or older adults. Dr. Briesacher received her B.A. from the University of California in Berkeley, M.A. from Williams College, and Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
