Jennifer B. McDonald

Jennifer B. McDonald is an independent editor, writer, and teacher with two decades of experience working with professional and aspiring journalists and authors — at major national news organizations, in print and online, and in the classroom. Previously, Ms. McDonald was an editor at The New York Times Book Review, a copy editor on the Book Review and on the National desk of the Times, and before that was an editor at the Washington Post and at CNET News.com. In 2012–13, she was a Nieman Fellow at Harvard University. In addition to editing, she is an adjunct faculty member in the Writer’s Studio at the University of Chicago’s Graham School of Continuing Liberal and Professional Studies. Ms. McDonald received degrees from City College of San Francisco and New School University, and is a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association and Chicago Women in Publishing.
