The "Commission Corner" is a new feature of the States in Action newsletter designed to inform readers about the activities of the Commonwealth Fund's Commission on a High Performance Health System. The Commission was established to chart a course for a health care system that provides better access, higher quality, and greater efficiency, with a particular focus on the most vulnerable members of our society. Recently, the Commission has released three products:
- Why Not the Best? Results from a National Scorecard on U.S. Health System Performance—a first of its kind, a comprehensive means of measuring and monitoring heath care outcomes, quality, access, efficiency, and equity.
- Public Views on Shaping the Future of the U.S. Health System—results from a survey conducted by Harris Interactive, on behalf of the Commission, to determine the public's perspectives on ways to improve patient care and health priorities facing the president and Congress.
- Framework for a High Performance Health System for the United States—in this consensus statement, the Commission defines "high performance" and outlines a vision of a uniquely American high performance health system.
