Maureen Bisognano, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement's chief operating officer, will succeed Donald Berwick, M.D., as the organization's president and CEO. Bisognano is a member of the Commonwealth Fund's Commission on a High Performance Health System. This week, President Obama appointed Berwick as the Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
