The Commonwealth Fund is pleased to announce new members of its Commission on a High Performance Health System and Board of Directors. David Blumenthal, M.D., former National Coordinator for Health Information Technology and a recognized health policy expert with extensive leadership experience in medicine, government, and academia, has been named chairman of the Commonwealth Fund Commission on a High Performance Health System. And Maureen Bisognano, president and chief executive officer of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, and a leading authority on improving health care systems, has been elected to the Commonwealth Fund Board of Directors.
