Massachusetts' Plans to Control Health Care Costs

The law recently enacted in Massachusetts to contain health care costs is the subject of a new commentary in the New England Journal of Medicine by Harvard University's John Ayanian, M.D., and Philip J. Van der Wees, a Commonwealth Fund Harkness Fellow in Health Care Policy and Practice. The cost-control measure is projected to save up to $200 billion in health care spending over the next 15 years.
