Celebrating Two Years of Progress

Commonwealth Fund president Karen Davis reviews progress made during the first two years of health reform under the Affordable Care Act in a new blog post, including: about 2.5 million young people and nearly 50,000 Americans with preexisting conditions gaining coverage; about 3.6 million people with Medicare saving $2.1 billion on their prescription drugs; and health care spending growing at its slowest rate in 50 years. "We are on the cusp of addressing some of our nation’s most costly and burdensome problems," she writes. "Year three of health reform will continue to move the United States to a high-performing health care system in which all Americans have access to affordable, high-quality care."
