To enhance understanding of what it takes to become an effective accountable care organization (ACO), Premier Research Institute researchers identified characteristics associated with greater readiness, including a patient-centered focus, full or partial health plan ownership, and positive relationships with providers. Their findings, presented in a recent Commonwealth Fund report, were based on 59 in-person assessments of hospital-based organizations participating in a national collaborative created to support the transition to accountable care. This free 75-minute webinar provided highlights from that study and feedback from two participating organizations.

- Steven Blumberg, senior vice president/executive director of Health Solutions at AtlantiCare in New Jersey, who will address population management infrastructure, particularly chronic disease management.
Anne-Marie J. Audet, M.D., M.Sc., vice president for Health Care Quality and Efficiency at The Commonwealth Fund, and Stuart Guterman, vice president and executive director of the Commission on a High Performance Health System, will moderate.
